Hello, I'm Anderson, and welcome to my resume page. The official document can be found below, but I wanted to give you a quick rundown of my background and what interests me.
First off, I'm from Tuckerman, Arkansas, a very small town in a pretty small state. My go-to tidbit is that my hometown does not have a stoplight; however, I learned to drive well anyway.
I am seeking my first official role in production accounting. I just completed the California Film Commission's Entry-Level Production Accounting course, which is part of their Career Pathways Program. The program covers and drills us on all aspects of clerk responsibilities including appropriate filing, learning industry software, processing invoices, communicating with cast and crew, entering data, etc.
Most relevant to accounting in my previous work experience, my finance background started in the unique world of campaign politics in my home state of Arkansas; I eventually worked my way up to Operations Director for the state Democratic party. For three years, I managed all of our finances, which included managing accounts payable, running payroll, onboarding 1099 and W2 employees, and filing accurate reports with both decision makers and oversight agencies, like the FEC. During this time, I was responsible for key financial duties during a competitive US Senate campaign, with millions in deposits and expenditures occurring weekly. I also oversaw logistics for our state's delegation to the 2016 National Convention, which involved multiple vendors and unique and time-sensitive accounts payable schedules and fundraising deposits. All of this required a careful attention to detail and staying well-organized.
Similar to production accounting, working in political and campaign finance requires a strong work ethic combined with passion for the job, all in a fast-paced environment. As you can imagine, it also takes real people skills and high-levels of discretion, both of which I’ve developed well with a polite disposition and a can-do attitude. I also have sound judgment, which these working environments require - I can prioritize and move more important tasks to the top of the list without being prompted and can anticipate and respond to shifting deadlines.

While I enjoyed working in politics, I am very excited to begin working in production accounting. In addition to the course I just passed, I also completed a production accounting course through UCLA's Extension program. I am well-versed in Excel, and I have some working knowledge of Entertainment Partners' suite of software, including Smart Accounting and Movie Magic Budgeting. With that basis, I'm confident that I can master any specific software that is utilized in any office. I would also be willing to seek any certifications or take any courses that would be helpful.
Again, my background might not exactly align with the traditional entry for this industry; but I am a hard worker, well organized, always eager to learn, and I appreciate all opportunities to grow.
Outside of the office, I like to run, read, and watch movies. I enjoy traveling and learning new skills. I strive to consume and share stories of all kinds. And time with friends and family is like gold.
